The Importance of the Volunteer Journey

Date: 24th Jun 2019 Author: Scout Websites
Volunteers attended The Importance of the Volunteer Journey, a development morning for all volunteers looking at how we continually support adults who deliver Scouting in Shropshire.

County Commissioner, Dexter Williams started the morning with a walk through of the volunteer journey highlighting the key stages and some practical considerations when guiding the volunteers through the every stage of volunteers. UK Commissioner for People, Amir Cheema then closed out the morning with a reflective session looking at the motivation we have to volunteer and how applying those considerations when managing Adult Volunteers and supporting peers leads to a more effective Scouting experience for our young people.

Thanks must go to Amir Cheema for supporting the event and those who attended. Feedback on the event is most welcome and will lead to the continual improvement of this County resource.
The slide deck from the day can be viewed here:

If you wish to have this delivered locally, please speak to your DC or Dexter; County Commissioner.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
