InterCounties 2024

Over the weekend of the 27-28 April, the Shropshire Rifles Squad took part in the Scouts InterCounty Airgun Match at Aldersley, Wolverhampton. Shooting took place over both the days with Saturday put aside as a training day for the main team wiht the rest of the squad invited along to shoot for individual honours in the reserve match. The Sunday then was reserved for the main competition with the main team going head to head with the other teams from Greater London South West, Greater Manchester West and Cheshire.

Throughout the day the team all shot both air pistol and air rifle with scores combined for an overall team score for team pistol, team rifle and combined score trophies. Although Cheshire managed to just beat out the other Counties for the top spot, Shropshire managed to secure 2nd overall with Greater Manchester West securing 3rd place.

Although there were strong shoots from both the main team and the reserves, particular mentions go to:
Drew Ford who won Gold in the Individual Rifle and Junior Aggregate.
Abbigael Beech who won Silver in the Junior Aggregate.
Chris Astbury who won Gold in the Senior Reserve Match.
Suzie Jackson who won Silver in the Senior Reserve Match.
Daniel Dyer who won Bronze in the Senior Reserve Match.
Anwen Byrne who won Gold in the Junior Reserve Match.
Cameron Bent who won Silver in the Junior Reserve Match.
Jamie Le Boutillier who won Bronze in the Junior Reserve Match.
