County Treasurer and Trustee
Shropshire Scouts provides adventurous activities for over 2,000 young people aged 4 to 25 who are supported by nearly 900 adult volunteers.
The Treasurer will provide sound financial administration, support and information to the County Trustee Board in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association. Most functions are fully automated using Excel and Online Banking. The Treasurer will be supported by a Team of County Trustees , the County Chair and the County Lead Volunteer.
What skills do I need?
• Strong organisational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Able to think creatively and solve problems
• Previous experience of financial management or the role of a Charity Treasurer
• Able to analyse financial information effectively
• Good IT skills – we use Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams and Zoom Video Conferencing. Financial records are automated within Excel.
• Ability to summarise financial information for different audiences
• Willing to speak one’s mind and listen to the views of others
• Able to maintain independent and objective judgement
Location
This opportunity can be carried out whilst working from home, though periodic face to face attendance at County Board of Trustees meetings will be required.
