Shropshire Scouts Annual General Meeting , Monday the 5th September 2022; 19:00 for 19:30 start, very kindly hosted by Roden Nursery.
This has been a fabulous year in Shropshire. We have truly exited Covid with a bang. Our membership surged, we launched Squirrels, our Scouts travelling far and wide including Iceland and Spain, attended huge jamborees in the UK during the summer , as well as Groups taking young people camping right across the UK. We are also preparing to travel to Norway in 2023 as well as World Scout Jamboree in Korea.
Are you energised about change ? As part of our Skills for Life Strategy we have embarked upon a transformation journey to improve our volunteering experience. There will be an update for everyone at the AGM on how we are doing, plus meet members of the new County Team including the new Transformation Leads driving change in Shropshire. The AGM is a fabulous opportunity to meet face to face with other volunteers in the relaxed setting of Roden.
We have a number of awards to give out , recognizing the amazing work our volunteers do supporting our young people in the County .
As in 2021, we will be holding an online ballot, accessed below, to allow Council Members more time to vote. This does keep things simpler at the AGM , giving more time for attendees in person to mingle and network with each other.
- The AGM ballot will be open from the 16th August until 1st September using an online form accessible from here.
- There will be no voting on the night.
- All County Scout Council Members will receive an email asking them to vote. This will be sent to their email address in Compass.
- Any votes cast by people who are not members of the County Scout Council will not be counted.
If you would like to stand for Election as a County Trustee please do let us know before the 16th August via countycommissioner@shropshirescouts.org.uk. Any viewpoint is welcomed to ensure we continue to meet the need of our beneficiaries.
